At Aerojet Rocketdyne, our people further the exploration of space and help keep America safe! We design, develop and manufacture systems that are used on a variety of commercial and military rocket propulsion applications. This intern opportunity for summer 2019 will support thruster design and system integration technology groups in the successful planning, design, development and qualification of mechanical hardware.
Perform various mechanical engineering duties for the Mechanical Design and CAD Modeling technical staff.
50% - Assist with the development of engineering designs that are used on liquid rocket engine applications. Participate in trade studies, production program designs and/or support technology development efforts. Tasks will likely involve conceptual design support, part selection research and computer aided design (CAD) as well as data collection, entry level analysis and hardware tracking.
40% - Learn and apply product lifecycle management software tools (Windchill)
10% - Assist senior staff with technical presentations and submittals to both external customers and internal customers.
Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related science/discipline.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
