    Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks an Intern - Engineering, Configuration Management for our Huntsville, AL location. Position starts in May/June 2019.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Under direct supervision, the Configuration Management Intern will perform assignments requiring application of Industry Configuration Management practices and principles supporting development and production environments for assigned program(s).


    50% - Process and control changes made to all design disclosures including drawings, specifications, Aerojet Rocketdyne standards and customer/supplier documentation. Evaluate engineering change requests for completeness, clarity, validity of description and justification for change. Participate in Configuration Change Boards and take minutes as required. Meet established schedules for release of design documentation.


    50% - Prepare and release internal documents that communicate unique requirements to the team. Prepare and maintain configuration accounting reports as required by contract or Aerojet Rocketdyne policies.


    Candidate must be currently enrolled in a BS degree in Business Admininstration, Engineering or related discipline and have completed their junior year of study.  Solid academic track record and demonstrated teamwork experience required. Solid verbal and written communication skills required.


    US Citizenship required. This position requires the employee to have access to premises  or perform duties which are subject to national security requirements of the United States under government contracts that impose US Citizenship requirements for such positions. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Desired Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of all Microsoft software applications.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Be a self-starter and have the ability to work with little direction.



    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
