Aerojet Rocketdyne has an immediate opening for an Associate Business Analyst to join our growing facility in Huntsville, AL.
In this role, you will perform entry-level professional assignments following established policies under close supervision. This position requires some professional judgment and a limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories and concepts related to accounting and finance. Will also perform tasks that are planned to provide experience and familiarization with the organization. Must be able to communicate effectively with other department personnel, as well as personnel in other disciplines.

40% - Prepare routine financial reports for management review. Report distribution, data entry, filing, journal entry preparation and processing and other duties as assigned.
30% - Participate in and support preparation of budgets and cost element analysis. Assist in the analysis of data and prepare financial reports for management showing actual versus earned versus budgeted costs. Calculates, verifies and updates actual expenditures charged to budgeted accounts based on costs of labor, supplies and other related materials and assists in cost analysis on contracts.
10% - Support department training objectives and familiarization with department procedures.
10% - Maintain records and performance history in support of department financial objectives. Maintain current records by gathering a variety of data and verifying accuracy of these records.
10% - Other duties as assigned by department head.
This is an entry-level exempt position requiring a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline such as Business or Accounting (or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience). This position requires solid mathematical skills to accurately perform calculations used in cost/budget analysis. The understanding of general accounting principles, practices and procedures along with a basic understanding of relevant software (Excel, etc.) is strongly preferred.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
