    We are currently seeking an Associate Contracts Analyst to join our Space Programs Contract team in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area).


    The Associate Contract Analyst – Space Programs at Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) is an entry-level position that will require keen attention to detail, high aptitude for commercial and company computer applications, willingness to quickly learn Federal, Defense and NASA Contracting laws and regulations, and interact with senior customer and company executives. This position is a springboard position toward greater responsibility in providing support to large space programs.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    The Associate Contracts Administrator performs entry-level professional assignments under direct supervision.


    25% - Performs contract closeout activities to include physical and electronic filing and interaction with multi-functional teams. 


    10% - Prepares for meetings including agendas, reports, files, distribution and other materials.


    10% - Organizes and assumes responsibility for maintenance of files, records and other documents.


    10% - Prepares for meetings including agendas, reports, files, distribution and other materials.


    10% - Prepares/initiates routine and non-routine correspondence, memoranda, reports and meeting minutes from marginal notes or verbal instructions.


    10% - Performs routine contractual procedures requiring understanding and application of company principles, concepts, practices and standards.


    5% - Prepares proposals for new contracts or changes to existing contracts.


    5% - Prepares and processes requests for contract modifications, overtime, procurement of equipment, subcontracts and other actions requiring customer approval.


    5% - Reads and comprehends agreements and government regulations, especially DoD and NASA requirements.


    5% - Keeps supervisor informed regarding current status of work in progress throughout the department.


    5% - Stays current on changes to government regulations and industry protocols.


    This is an entry level position requiring a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


    US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

    • Must have excellent knowledge of personal computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet and database.
    • Possess substantial knowledge of standard office procedures, filing systems, related office machines and general aspects of the job.
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with individuals representing outside organizations and or within the company.
    • Ability to work well under constantly changing deadlines and priorities expected.
    • Basic understanding of operations control and proposal evaluation desired.
    • Full understanding and application of contract administration principles, concepts, practices and standards a plus.


    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
