    Aerojet Rocketdyne has a summer 2018 internship opportunity at our facility in Sacramento, CA. The Business Operations Intern will work closely with Category Management and will be responsible for various data-related tasks such as data entry, organization of data, data collection, etc.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    15% - Generate file with part numbers that require Manufacturer part number and/or Manufacturer/Distributor relationship and/or Manufacturer CAGE code and/or specification.

     

    25% - Identify program or programs that utilize those part numbers.

     

    25% - Contact program Engineer or Material Program Manager and (maintaining a log of data sources) identify qualified material source (manufacturer/address).

     

    25% - Contact manufacturers and identify authorized distributors for each product when product is bought through distribution.

     

    10% - Work with system experts to format data for dataloader.

    Requirements

    Candidates must be pursuing a BS/BA degree in one of the following disciplines: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Business Management. Completion of at least Sophomore year of college expected.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 or above.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in teams.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Demonstrates strong business acumen.
    • Demonstrated ability in developing solutions to complex issues using an organized systematic approach.
    • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on schedule following established procedures.
    • Ability to foster and maintain solid relationships internally and externally.
    • Strong interpersonal, as well as excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to perform work under general direction.
    • Attention to detail.

    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

     

     

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
