    Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Production Planning/Scheduling Intern to join our facility in Canoga Park, California (Los Angeles area) for Summer 2018.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    The intern will work with Scheduling/Planning Analysts on a variety of program centric activities and schedule development tasks. The intern will gain exposure to planning/scheduling requirements:


    55% - Production Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS)/Oracle schedule development activities by program.


    10% - Understand and work within the entire scheduling value-stream lifecycle from proposal to end item delivery.

    10% - Work within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) value-stream to ensure latest product definition is in alignment with Production Plan. 

    15% - Supports overarching strategy to move towards Maestro (Oracle) centric scheduling model.

    10% - Other tasks as assigned to support a specific program and/or Supply Chain/Material Management.


    Candidates must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's (or advanced) degree in supply chain management, business or other related major and have completed at least the Sophomore year. Solid academic track record, good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail expected.


    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


    Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft suite of tools such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.


    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in multi-tasking.
    • Basic understanding of the materials planning process, terminology and general requirements.
    • General understanding of Supply Chain and/or manufacturing requirements.


    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.  May require the ability to travel by air or auto.  May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.  These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
