    Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Summer Intern to work out of its Sacramento, CA office. Local candidates only.

     

    After orientation and training, the intern would learn about government property requirements under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and modern records management processes using the Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning software.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    80% - Gain exposure to property requirements:

    • Review, research and update property records to improve data accuracy.
    • Interface with program personnel and planners.
    • Understand the cost/value of property and maintain asset records.

    20% - Other tasks as assigned to support a specific program and/or Supply Chain/Material Management.

    Requirements

    Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a business, finance, communication, math or related major and have completed at least your sophomore year. 

     

    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

     

    Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

    • Solid academic track record, good communication skills and attention to detail expected.
    • Strong research skills are needed.
    • Candidates should have familiarity with Microsoft suite of tools – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
    • Coursework in inventory management, procurement, buying, a PLUS.
    • Basic understanding of the materials planning process, terminology and general requirements desired.
    • Demonstrated experience in multi-tasking, negotiation and problem resolution skills preferred.
    • General understanding of Supply Chain, blueprint reading and manufacturing requirements desired.
    • Business, Accounting, or Procurement/Property experience using automated business systems is desired.

     

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
