    Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Summer Intern to work out of its Sacramento, CA. Local candidates only.

     

    After orientation and training, the intern will work with Procurement Compliance Analysts on a variety of government contract regulatory requirements and implementing them using automation to track compliance. The intern will gain exposure into how companies implement government regulatory requirements.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    80% - Work with Procurement Compliance Analysts on a variety of government contract regulatory requirements and compliance. Gain exposure to government regulatory requirements such as:

    • The Security and Exchange Commission Dodd-Frank rule on Conflict Minerals;
    • The Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Cyber Security Requirements;
    • The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) initiative;
    • MDA network security initiative and supporting compliance with the requirements for Aerojet Rocketdyne’s small business program.

    20% - Other tasks as assigned to support a specific program and/or Supply Chain/Material Management.

    Requirements

    Candidates must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's (or advanced) degree in business, finance, pre-law, procurement or other related major and have completed at least the Sophomore year. Solid academic track record, good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail expected.

     

    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

     

    Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft suite of tools such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Coursework in inventory management, procurement, buying, a PLUS.

     

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in multi-tasking.
    • Basic understanding of the materials planning process, terminology and general requirements.
    • Good negotiation and problem resolution skills.
    • General understanding of Supply Chain, blueprint reading and manufacturing requirements.

     

     

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
