The Accounting Analyst will report to the Manager, General Ledger Accounting and will be part of the team responsible for providing rapid and high-quality financial information. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including monthly general ledger, sub-ledger and overhead closings, balance sheet and income statement flux analysis, quarter and year-end audit preparation and review and update SOX process narratives and walk-throughs.

Using established procedures and working under general supervision, the core accounting and financial reporting activities relate to Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, Inc. and include the following:
40% - Assist with monthly financial close and analysis functions.
40% - Assist with monthly reconciliation analysis, accounting and reporting ad hoc requests, work with management regarding accounting and financial analysis for Cash and Health & Welfare related activity, and process improvement projects.
20% - Contribute to monthly reporting, variance analysis and other ad hoc analyses, ensuring that all financial information is presented clearly, consistently and on time.
Secondary Job Functions: Work with technology such as Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Retrieve, and the MS-Office suite of tools to document and deliver information.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with accounting for Cash and/or Health & Welfare transactional accounting or auditing experience desirable. Experience with Hyperion Enterprise and Oracle or other ERP systems a strong plus. Experience with Excel strongly preferred.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Independent, self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organization skills, and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work to meet critical deadlines with focus on work product quality and accuracy.
