Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Control Systems Analysis Intern to join our facility in Huntsville, AL for summer 2018.
Under direct supervision of other engineers, the Intern will perform rocket propulsion system engineering assignments requiring a basic understanding of systems analysis and controls principles and a working knowledge of other related disciplines to help define, develop and analyze rocket propulsion systems.
50% - Systems Analysis: Engineering support for propulsion system sizing, requirements development, trade study and test. Perform steady state or transient analysis of propulsion system and components. Data reduction and analysis of solid, liquid, or air-breathing propulsion system and component tests.
25% - Creation and modification of simulation models and data analysis tools.
25% - Document work in reports and presentations and presents results to large diverse audiences that may include internal, customer and industry technical experts.
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical or appropriate discipline/science (completing junior year of study) OR current enrollment in a Master's degree program in an appropriate engineering discipline. Coursework in controls engineering preferred. Demonstrated skills with Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python, Easy 5 or equivalent tools preferred. Working knowledge of standard office tools, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint a plus.
