Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Performance Analysis Intern to join our facility in Redmond, WA for summer 2018.
In this role, the intern will support a variety of tasks in a fast paced production and development environment under the guidance of experienced engineers. The successful candidate will be a self-starter able to identify areas where his/her skills will benefit the team. Guided tasks will include evaluation of test data, running various programs to aid in understanding of test data and improvements to existing capability. The ability to quickly and effectively communicate information verbally and visually is a must. The internship position will support a number of different programs and gain experience related to in-space propulsion products including bipropellant thrusters, monopropellant thrusters and electric propulsion systems from design through development and during testing.
60% - Performance Data Reduction and Analysis: Engineering support reducing and analyzing large amounts of multidimensional test data. Ability to correctly identify trends and compare test data to performance models. Interfacing with subject specialists, generalists and test engineers.
25% - Creation and modification of simulation models, algorithms, curve fit equations and data analysis tools.
15% - Document work in reports and presentations and presents results to diverse audiences that may include internal, customer and/or industry technical experts.
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or appropriate discipline/science (completing junior year of study) OR current enrollment in a Master's degree program in an appropriate engineering discipline.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
