Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks an Intern - Systems Development, Verification and Test Engineering for Summer 2018 at its Los Angeles location.
After orientation and training, the intern will perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects. This position will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with Aerojet Rocketdyne programs and products. The candidate must be able to operate effectively in a team environment. This internship position will start approximately June 2018.
General tasks will include engine systems development, verification and test support related to Aerojet Rocketdyne rocket engine products. Specific job tasking will be determined at time of employment but generally will include the following:
85% - Tasks which directly support the RS-25 Rocket Booster Engine development program for NASA’s Space Launch System. Activities include requirements verification, test planning, action item request coordination, test support, test readiness reviews, anomaly resolution, and engine processing at the Stennis Space Center.
15% - Travel to the NASA Stennis Space Center, Mississippi will be required to familiarize the intern with large rocket engine assembly, processing and testing.
Candidate must be currently enrolled in a B.S. degree program in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar major and have completed their sophomore year of study OR be enrolled in an M.S. degree program in a related major.

May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
