Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks an Intern for Summer 2018 in its Los Angeles location.
After orientation and training, the intern will perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects. The intern will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with Aerojet Rocketdyne projects. The candidate must be able to operate effectively in a team environment. This internship position will start approximately June 2018.
General tasks will include maintainability, support analyses, and post delivery product support engineering tasks for a variety of Aerojet Rocketdyne rocket engine products. Job tasking will be determined at time of employment.
50% - Activities includes support to the sustaining engineering, engine processing, launch and mission support activities for the RS-68A Rocket Booster Engine. Orientation and training will be directed at participation in readiness reviews, anomaly resolution, and engine processing and vehicle integration.
50% - Tasks include support to the RS-25 Rocket Booster engine development program. Activities include maintainability and supportability assessments, test support, and operational technical requirements documentation for engine processing.
Candidate must be currently enrolled in a B.S. degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (or similar) major and have completed their sophomore year of study OR be enrolled in an M.S. degree program in related major.
Solid academic track record of accomplishment. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Software applications. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Student will be a self-starter and have the ability to work with little direction. Leadership & teamwork skills are a must.
