Aerojet Rocketdyne is a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader providing propulsion and energetics to its space, missile defense, strategic, tactical missile and armaments customers throughout domestic and international markets. We are currently seeking an Associate Contracts Administrator to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This is an entry-level position.


This current opening may be filled at this level or at one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

100% - Under close supervision, the Associate Contracts Administrator performs entry-level professional assignments and follows established policies. This position requires some professional judgment and a limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories and concepts. Negotiates and administers small contracts and assists in the administration of major contracts. Performs initial reviews of terms and conditions of contracts. Assures that actions are compliant with public law and regulation. Advises management of contractual obligations in their jurisdiction to ensure successful contract relationships with client organizations. Independently resolves problems of contract performance.


Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in contracts administration preferred. 


Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail, customer focus, negotiation skills, and an ability to work effectively on teams.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is expected.
Experience with Oracle or ERP system a plus.
Prior government contract administration preferred.
Internship experience in a contracts department in the aerospace or defense industry preferred.

 Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
